CBD For ARTHRITIS
Arthritis is a condition causing joint pain. There are 100 different types of arthritis, according to the Arthritis Foundation, but they all share the same symptoms including swelling, stiffness, pain and decreased the range of motion.
CBD has been widely touted for its anti-inflammatory properties. But just how extensive is the ability of CBD to aid arthritis sufferers?
Each connection has posted the following findings:
Preclinical trials suggest that cannabis can help limit the damage of different types of arthritis. In an animal trial, cannabidiol (CBD), a major cannabinoid found in cannabis, effectively blocked the progression of arthritis. Researchers found that CBD protected joints against severe damage and concluded that CBD offers a potent anti-arthritic effect6.
Other studies have found that cannabinoids offer strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties and reduce joint damage in mice with osteoarthritis8,9. Most recently, cannabinoid treatments were found effective for reducing osteoarthritis-related cartilage breakdown4.
Research has also shown that cannabis can help manage the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. CBD and another major cannabinoid found in cannabis — tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) — activate the two main cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) of the endocannabinoid system within the body. These receptors regulate neurotransmitter release and central nervous system immune cells to reduce pain11. Activating the CB1 receptor has been specifically found to reduce pain sensitivity in the osteoarthritic knee joints of rats7. One study found that cannabis-based medicine significantly improved pain during joint movement, pain while at rest, and quality of sleep in patients with rheumatoid arthritis3. Numerous preclinical studies have confirmed cannabis’ anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects and they support the idea that the endocannabinoid system is involved in alleviating pain associated with arthritis5.
Activating CB2 receptors reduces osteoarthritic knee pain.
Cannabinoid CB2 Receptors Regulate Central Sensitization and Pain Responses Associated with Osteoarthritis of the Knee Joint.
CBD found to have anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects and therefore shown to be a potent anti-arthritic. The nonpsychoactive cannabis constituent cannabidiol is an oral anti-arthritic therapeutic in murine collagen-induced arthritis.(http://www.pnas.org/content/97/17/9561.full)
In a report published by Eur J Pain. 2016 Jul; 20(6): 936–948, the author concludes the following: “These data indicate that CBD topical salve application has therapeutic potential for relief of arthritis pain-related behaviors and inflammation without evident side-effects.”
The results as reported by the author are as follows: “Measurement of plasma CBD concentration provided by transdermal absorption revealed linearity with 0.6–6.2 mg/day doses. Transdermal CBD gel and CBD softgels can significantly reduce joint swelling, limb posture scores as a rating of spontaneous pain, immune cell infiltration and thickening of the synovial membrane in a dose-dependent manner. PWL recovered to near baseline level. Immunohistochemical analysis of spinal cord (CGRP, OX42) and dorsal root ganglia (TNFα) revealed dose-dependent reductions of pro-inflammatory biomarkers. Results showed 6.2 and 62 mg/day were effective doses. Exploratory behavior was not altered by CBD indicating a limited effect on higher brain function.”
The manuscript also states, “CBD, while structurally similar to THC, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid with therapeutic potential for treatment of neuropathic pain, cancer pain, multiple sclerosis and inflammation (Mechoulam and Hanus, 2002; Mechoulam et al., 2002; Burstein and Zurier, 2009).”
All reports we could find were conclusive that CBD does help arthritis. A good reason to check out the tincture and salve at www.medicinalESSENTIALS.com
And some testimonials from the users of
Virginia, regarding the use of our salve.
I have lived with increasing back pain for some time. I am unable to use all of the non-steroidal medications and have been looking for something that would help. This does. For the first time in months, I was able to work in my yard. That is what I really enjoy doing and now I can.

Great product! April 14, 2018. Verified Purchase
I don’t usually buy stuff like this because I figure it’s sort of a scam. A woman at the beach the other day saw I was limping with a knee brace and stopped me to tell me about this product. I thought, what the heck, I may as well try it. I was kind of desperate. It worked immediately. I’m not pain-free—my knee injury is pretty severe, but I’m able to do things I haven’t since I was injured. I can walk farther and faster, climb and stand without feeling weak in the knee!!! This is a totally unsolicited review. I am aware of the placebo effect but this is a real improvement.
Facebook follower Linda Morris The best! You don't need to try any other.
Facebook follower Jeanne Fay I use the salve on mine. Total relief in 10 minutes or less!
Here is what Linda had to say on our website:
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 40 years ago, at age 33. I have tried the vetted CBD oils and yours is the best. I was losing the use of my legs with pain and burning at night. The 300 Peppermint controls this and my walking ability has improved. My next order will be for the 750 Peppermint.
I would like to see you on Twitter.
Thank you for an excellent product!
